Here we go with our new Fall 2021 Mighty Women! We are so glad that you are joining us! This time around we will be centered on how to be well-watered women: women who are rooted in the truth, growing in grace, and flourishing in faith. We want to be more than just women who know Jesus, but women who thoroughly enjoy living in His presence. We will be going through Well-Watered Women by Gretchen Saffles.

Each week (Monday - Sunday) we will have new curriculum here at www.VBFwomen.com/mw2021. The next week’s curriculum will be updated by Friday for the following week.

The curriculum will consist of:

READ: Reading of Well-Watered Women. You can either choose to purchase the book (Amazon Link Here) or you can read through images that we will post of important pages within the chapter for that week.

ANSWER: Each week we will ask a question for you to answer within your text communication amongst your pod. The question will have to do with the reading for that week to get you thinking a little deeper.

DEVOTE: Each week we will have devotions through the Holy Bible App. You will be provided a group link each week to follow along with the large group.

Your pod goal is to speak weekly through text communication, meet monthly in-person, and do one service project together throughout this session. Deanna Smith (dsmith@vbf.org) and Shelley Murphy (shelleymurphyrealtor09@gmail.com) are leading this ministry and are available to you if you need anything throughout Mighty Women. I’ll be praying through and posting your weekly curriculum each week. We are praying for you and believe that God is going to do amazing things within your life!

With Love, Nicole Dickey

This week we are in chapter eight of Well-Watered Women, and we are discussing “Springing Up From Ashes.” So often we can feel dry, that the Spirit of God has left us. But, just a spark can start the fire needed in our souls. Fire needs the right conditions to spread, just as we need the presence of God in ALL areas of our life for that same fire to spread. This week we are discussing how we can create the right “conditions” for that fire to spread quickly in all areas of our life!

We are headed into part two of the book Well-Watered Women in chapter seven! Our focus this week is how to put the Word of God over the world. I so enjoyed this part of the reading that I wanted to share it with you again:

“Meet with Jesus when it’s load. Meet with him when it’s dead quiet. Meet with him when you’re alone. Meet with him in the presence of others. The Word came into this loud, noisy, chaotic world to bring peace, hope, and life-giving truth. Surely he has a heartbeat. It causes freedom, purpose, and joy to pulse through your veins.”

Choosing the Word over the world is not a precise event, but in the daily craziness of the day, choosing to lean into Jesus in everything. Here we go!

Read/Watch:

We recommend reading chapter seven of Well-Watered Women by Gretchen Saffles. If you don’t have a copy, we’ve done a five minutes synopsis of the chapter in our video, “Word Before World” You can watch instead or in addition to the reading.

Challenge:

Spend the next seven days choosing the Word before the World.

Share with your pod your progress or even regression for accountability throughout the week. This means before you fill your mind/heart with anything the world has for you, fill it with Jesus first. Examples: selecting worship music before the news radio / devotions before social media / praying before making a decision

We will also define them as our “wilderness moments” as the Israelites said the exact same thing, “Anywhere but here!” as they were stranded in the dessert on the way to the Promised Land. But the Israelites also got to see the most amazing miracles while in the wilderness moments! Let’s discover our “anywhere but here” moments and also find God in those same moments!

This week we are digging into the rotten roots vs. the gospel roots as we dig into chapter two of Well Watered Women. We often allow the rotten roots to creep their way into our lives. At first we can identify them as things we need to get rid of, but if we don’t spend the time to take them out of our live they can spread very quickly. This week we are going to identify the rotten roots in our lives and replace them with gospel roots!

Read/Watch:

Answer:

What “rotten roots” have you let grow in your life?
